What should I wear to go out tonight?

So I'm going out with 3 friends tonight for my late 18th birthday celebration. I'm planning on wearing something casual like jeans, Converse and a hoodie, but I just spoke to one of them and it turns out they're all planning to wear dresses and get glammed up. I'm not much of a dress type person and I only wear dresses if I absolutely have to. I'm worried I'll feel awkward when I'm dressed all casual and they're all dressed in fancy stuff. Should I wear a dress, or should I just wear something I'm comfortable in?

Bag the hoodie. They are nasty on women. You could just go in a skirt and nice top/sweater.

Obviously your friends are treating this as a special occasion. But it's your special occasion. Yet I think you should still make an effort as they are doing. Defo. no hoodie though. Compromise.....nice dress you feel comfortable in with the Converse? Or why not be a new you for the night? We all need to rethink our style so that we don't become"type-cast." Have a gr8 time!x
