Cream processor with Blonde dye, Not bleach? So ive been adding highlights for a while now because i want much lighter hair, right now its like a caramel brown colour: Shade 12 if you need to see - http://www.fulllacewigsbyhottipsfashion.com/files/2976750/uploaded/1ColorCodes.jpg But its taking way too long, and my hair is not in good enough condition to use bleach all over. I saw a video of a girl and she used box dye, like ash blonde, with processor (40) instead of bleach. I was wondering if that would really work, how well, and how to mix all three ingredients? (the two things in the box)

Answer:
I hope I'm reading this incorrectly and the "girl on the video" isn't telling you to mix a tube of of color, 40 volume peroxide AND bleach powder all together. If she is then she should be banned from the internet. If your hair is damaged enough that you can't use bleach on it, then using box color will be just as bad. You're going to be adding 40 volume peroxide and the color tube to damaged hair. To achieve blonde hair, you would add, yup.....40 volume peroxide with the bleach powder. BOth are very damaging. One is SLIGHTLY less damaging. Neither should be applied to already damaged hair. You also never want to follow the advice of somebody putting a random video online. Because you never see the ENTIRE process; you never see how their hair color looks after just a few shampoos; you can't see how much hair breaks off when they brush it the next day after a do-it-yourself try; and you can't look at their hair closely to see how much they damaged it. I can tell you I have seen WAY to many clients that have come in with hair breaking off so bad that their hair was Just touching their shoulders. Before they tried to do their own hair it was past their bra strap. Yes, I've seen women break down in tears explaining what happened. Also never listen to ANYONE who recommends box color. If is make with cheap and low grade chemicals. Is that something you really want to put on your hair? Also when you do your own hair, more often than not it will not come out even because some areas are going to get more bleach or color than others. You do not want blotchy hair color. Have you considered how it will look as the hair color fades? Box color fades to very ugly unnatural tones. Also have you thought of how you're going to touch up your hair as it grows out and the regrowth of your natural hair is different from the colored areas? The best advice you are going to get from anyone....... Go to 5 different stylists. Tell them all what you want and ask them all a LOT of questions. Then pick the one you're most comfortable with. I would pick whichever one recommends you do a deep treatment BEFORE you do any process to your hair. Bleaching and coloring always come out better on healthy hair than damaged hair. Healthier hair, more even results. The stylist will know exactly what volume of peroxide to use for your hair, which probably wont be 40 like box color. She will also be using professional grade chemicals on your hair. No cheap bleach and peroxide. No low grade metallic dyes like box color. Professional color fades to nice natural tones and is easier to touch up as it grows out. Your hair is one of the first things people are going to notice about you. Do you really want to take the chance of mixing a bunch of unknown chemicals you bought at Walmart then putting it on your hair, which is already damaged? Yes....it will cost you more money. But do you really want to skimp on your hair? I'll tell you this, if your hair is bad enough that you can tell it can't handle bleach; then it's in even worse condition that you realize. Because the stylist will notice damage where you won't realize it. So you are seriously chancing losing a lot of hair due to breakage or it disintegrating. Go ahead, please spoil yourself this once and go to a salon. Your hair will thank you! ;-) Good luck!
