How to get loose curls?

How to get loose curls?(last long)?

• Okay so i do have naturally curly, but i had a perm for about.. 4-5 years but ive been going naturaly for about 5-7 months lol sorry i stopped in the summer so yeah..... But anyways Ive tried braiding it when wet with gel/mousse but it doesn't stay and at the roots my hair is really tight small kinky curls so instead of it being long with curls... its short and messy. My hair is only about 2inches below my shoulders kind of and id like to have loose curls/waves with length not a bunch of volume at the roots -_- .... SO! I also used wave nouveu but it really didnt do anything? It was curly and wet when i finished but when it dried it was horrible? So please could someone help me out:/ please?
