How do I apply base makeup?
-
My mom never taught me how to apply makeup, so I'm wondering how do I apply base makeup or foundation properly? and also, what kind should I get? Powder or liquid, and what brand? I have pale skin, but it gets dry. I also would like to know how to cover any bumps or red splotches. Thank you!

Answer:
It depends on your skin, I HATE looking like I am wearing foundation, so I have to do mine a different way, and what I do is mix an equal part or less moisturizer with my foundation, mix it REALLY well, then rub it in my face til it's completely soaked in. If you have spots (acne and such) or dark/red spots (under your eyes, edges of your mouth, the corners of your nose) you may want to try using some concealer, so in that case you'll want to apply your concealer before foundation and try applying it after to see which works better for you, or both! I sometimes to both. But after you have done your foundation and concealer, use a powder foundation to set it all and mattify it. You can get a foundation brush if you want, but I prefer using my hands most of the time (make sure they are clean!) because I can feel if the foundation has sunk in. And for concealer you can tap your fingers all around and blend it in, or you can get a sponge or a brush, I like sponges and my fingers, but I haven't really tried a brush. For powder it is important you get a big kabuki brush, some like the pads most pressed powders provide but brushes apply it much better in my opinion. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9l5i0x1Mwk&feature=plcp&context=C479ffb3VDvjVQa1PpcFN0eqwkQgOsIii1ZYmPqeun-U0nMEjo1Qk= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPgbOgGhAWI Youtube some tutorials!

Well how you apply it depends on what type of makeup it is. For powder foundation: Usually it will come with some sort of pad or something to apply it with, just get the stuff on there and put it on! For liquid: Buy a foundation brush, and put the foundation on it and brush it across your skin until it blends in I have Maybelline's Fit Me Foundation, Powder, Concealer & Bronzer. My only complaint is that it does leave my skin a little oily, so I'm just careful to wash it off. First, you apply the foundation all over your face. (Make sure it blends!!). Next, put the concealer on bumps or splotches, anything you want to cover up, rub that in. Then, using the pad, apply the pressed powder all over your skin. If you want to, use a brush and apply bronzer on your cheeks, forehead, nose, anywhere that naturally gets sun. Hope I helped!!!!!!! Get a really good MAC or Costco concealer that matches your type and use a tibuki brush or regular fluffy brush to smooth it. I Prefer liquid to powder in my opinion.
Kayla
get bb garnier liquid for foundation and apply lipgloss and use a little bit of mascara since you started using makeup.
