I need tips for my movie.

Need movie makeup tips?

  • I'm working on a short film, and one of the actors is going to pretend to be dead. I have fake blood to cover my actor in, but what else should I do makeup-wise? I'm not sure if the blue eyes or anything are really necessary since the person was supposed to have been stabbed just a few hours before. Suggestions please?

  • Answer:

There isn't much to be done because visible changes are limited only a few hours after death. Besides the obvious bruising and wounds you will probably create from the cause of death, you can wash out the skin with a pale foundation color. Preferably cool toned as the skin becomes a pale color with bluish undertones after death. You can make the eyes look very slightly tired looking with a little grey eyeshadow underneath - even the living get tired looking eyes sometimes. Circle lenses would be a great idea since the eyes become dilated following death. These are just my suggestions. Hope it helped a little :)
