Bleeding while on birth control?

Is it possible that I am pregnant or did stopping my birth control make me stop bleeding?

• So i had my baby at the end of December. I am breastfeeding. Around the beginning of February my doctor prescribed me my birth control pills again. At the end of February me and my husband went to a hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary. At the time I had been taking the birth control pills for 3 weeks. I was on what I thought was my period. I bled for 10 days, stopped for a few days and then bled again. While we were at the hotel we had sex once, (while on my period). My doctor and the pharmacist said we didn't have to wait to have sex without a condom. After I finished bleeding, I haven't bled since. I stopped my birth control after that one month because I haven't had money to get it refilled. I can't be pregnant could I? I was on the birth control.
