How do I hand feed baby parakeets?

Baby sucking on hand while trying to feed her...?

  • were just starting to feed our baby baby food. rice cereal, carrot food ect.. the baby likes to suck on her hands alot, and does it during feeding. i pull her hand out of her mouth, and my g.f says that i'm forcing her to eat. there isn't anything wrong with me taking her hand out of he mouth so she can eat is there??

My 7 month old does this too. I think it's a combination of him teething, gas and that he's hungry. I wouldn't worry too much, it's how they comfort themselves. I definitely don't think you should stop feeding her when she does this because it generally means that they are hungry. When my little man is full he pulls away and shows no interest in food. He also stops sucking on his hand. I always pull his hands away when feeding and he's slowly learning. Good luck!

No of course there's nothing wrong with it.. Each feeding phase, the baby has to learn and get used to things. From breast/bottle, to spoon feeding and trying things they'll either like or not like.. then to finger foods and doing things by themselves. My daughter will be 2 in October and she has become VERY independent.. things will get easier! Babies learn as they go :) Good luck!

i have a 6 month old and she does that too. i swaddle her loosely, pretty much tie her hands down so she cant do that cuz she gets the food all over the place! and when i wrap her up, after every bite she sucks on her bib! i dont know how she does it, but better the bib than her hands lol!
