Tips to inprove my anime drawing skills?

  • I love drawing anime/manga and I want to develop my anime/manga drawing skills as I normally just draw the head and shoulders of the characters. I used to copy a lot of charcters, I wanted to draw my own and now I do mostly all of my drawings are of made up/ random characters don't plan how they look but I decide on the way but Im no longer satisfied with drawing head shots and my full body drawings are, average at best but the posing is really bad and I find it difficult. I know that perseverance is needed when drawing but lately I get frustrated and my pappers end up scribbled out thrown across the room and I end up acting like a child and pouting but a little voice in my head is saying ''persper perseverer preserver!'' but I get too frustrated and give up:( Im not satisfied whit my drawings or my attutuid Ive tryed tutorials and books to help me inprove but no luck. Something I also want to add to my drawings is emotion. I do not think they are atmospheric enoghth and as someone who enjoys acting its something I want to inflict when people look at my drawings. I don't want to think I have reached my peek as someone who enjoys drawing anime/manga, I also have manga studio 4 which I still have not got the hang of which is also frustrating, Ive watched tortorials but they havent been effective. I really hate still life drawing although suggested as a teaching method but I do it in school and it drives me nuts drawing inanimet objects and landscapes althogh I would just adore being able to draw backbackgrounds scenery in my drawings whith my charcters. Can anyone help me inprove my attituide and my drawings by giving me some tips? sorry to be so much trobble.

Hey whats up :) So your having a hard time with your drawings well i am always like that too And you know what sometimes i feel great and draw nice anime characters but of course at times i get fustrated like i drew the eyes crooked or like the arm looks like a worm and such :p Don't scribble it out just leave it and try a new clean page and put your drawings in a binder. When you draw try drawing Random anime pictures if you see the picture doesn't look exactly like the picture then do something fun with it, for instance i draw this pretty boy but turns out to look like a mature pretty lady then i forget the picture and add some of my ideas into the picture its very fun :) And the most is to be convident when you look at you drawings say this "I can draw this :D If i mess who cares i tried my best and i will try again next time and practice and improve " PRACTICE !!!! Look around and read some manga and see peoples different ways of drawing characters and google and take random parts of different characters and bash them up in to a charcter You can do many things with drawings and it improves slowly it takes patiance :) The artist now who are awsome probably stressed before but didn't care and kept practicing! This is more like a confidence but confidence and feelings towards drawings ends up improving your drawings :D Use your binder in the future and compare and see the results :3

Well...I've currently started a youtube channel dedicated to helping people improve drawing (manga, specifically) :P Lol I have manga studio EX 4 as well. Everything you said is exactly how I felt ages ago. The beauty of manga, however, is that the laws of physics and reality don't neccessarily have to stick. It gives you an open road and allows you to create styles that your readers/viewers can immediatly recognise is yours. I actually originally started off drawing relistic stuff. Proportional stuff. I hated manga. I thought it was kiddish and "unserious". I thought it wasn't art. But I take it all back. Manga is not restricted and i geniunely do believe that it's a form of art now. So...Don't give up, my friend. My youtube channel is http://www.youtube.com/ondedraw if you're interested :P (unfortunately I only have one video up because I just made my channel two days ago. But if you're serious about what you're saying, plz subscribe and comment so I can make videos to teach you :D) Btw, might i ask, what particule style of manga do you read/like. Bleach? Naruto? One piece? Air Gear? etc...?
