Throwing my chicken eggs about?
-
Hi, im a 15 year old girl who is trying to start up a egg business, i have a stall at the end on my house where people can buy my chicken eggs, i can earn up to about £20 a week but it all depends on weather, time of year ...ect and i rely on this money to go towards my horse riding each week so money is quite tight for me (i have to pay for feed aswell!) last week we found about 3 eggs thrown on the floor, we werent happy but just though its some kids thinking it was abit of fun and that was the end of it, but the next day i saw a kid around the corner buy my egg stall (hes a few years younger then me and has abit of mental health issues, not major, hes just not the cleverest tool in the box), and he went off on his bike, about 5 minutes later my dad called me and said 2 more eggs were throw, so this kid was now my top suspect, about 1 hour later i was out with my chickens and looked over and saw him throw an egg and off on his bike again, i ran to my dad and we went off to tell his parents, his parents gave me the money for him throwing the eggs, but they argued with us saying it could of been other kids in the village who done it and that we are targeting them because there son has mental issues and made up excuses saying his son is afraid of dog blah blah blah, but they did say they have banned him to come near our house, we didnt really care what they said because all we wanted to happen is for the egg throwing to stop as it was wasting my time and was just making the outside of our house horrible as it was very hard to get the yolk out of the ground. But today we saw the kid again right by our eggs again, he was looking extremely suspiscious the way he was looking everywhere and looking at our house, me and my dad stood by the window where he could see us and he soon shot away, but i'm now just worried it will happen all over again. Is there anything else we can do to stop this kid form keep throwing my chicken eggs about if he starts again? or is there nothing we can do and this is just part of the risk of putting the eggs out? thanks for any help you can give!

Answer:
Put a door on your egg stall and lock it up when you aren't around!

My first suggestion is to ask the boy very politely to stop throwing your eggs and explaining why he needs to stop. (Can't hurt, can it?) My second suggestion is to ask the parents to have him clean the egg yolks up from the lawn so he recognizes the consequences for his actions and will probably be less likely to throw them again. This request might not be taken so well by the parents judging from their previous response. If they don't believe it was their son then you might have to get some evidence by setting up a camera or something. Just a tip, you might get better replies in Laws & Ethics as that is what the subject seems to be more about. :)
