My dog also does this reverse sneezing. Both my dogs actually. One more than the other. Mine aren't from the pollen tho. Does your pup only do it outside and is she on a leash pulling by chance?? My shelibe is a chihuahua mix and does his reverse sneezing when I have him on a leash connected to the collar around his neck. When he pulls he starts the sneezing and we found out that his trechea actually collapses and causes the problem. So now he's only on a leash with a harness which salved that problem. He also does it if he's drinking water to fast. My other dog kasey is a doxin mix and he reverse sneezes when he eats to fast or drinks to fast. I do a quick fix for both of them to get them to stop. Shelbie because its a collapsing trechea I just push his head down so his chin is parallel with his neck. It works well for him and he actually comes to. Me to fix him when he starts having this issue. With kasey I cover his nose brefly to inturrup his breathing while he's in that mode and it quickly stops thr reverse sneezing. So I would first find out what is setting your pup off, weather its eatting, drinking, on a leash or just walking out the door. You can try inturrupting her breathing like I do with kasey and she will stop. As far as the benedryl, it can help but it also has a side effect of drowsyness. But as far as that I don't know what else you could do if its allergys unless you ask your vet about allergy medications.

Check with your vet first, then try the following: Drip some "Ocean" nasal saline in her nose a few times a day to help flush the pollen out. Reverse sneezing is not a problem, just an annoyance, like the hiccups. I haven't had much luck with benadryl since it is not an allergy problem, just an irritation from all the particles in the air.
