Why is a Metropolitan Opera HD broadcast so much larger a file than a Blu-ray?
-
I recently went to a live broadcast of an opera at a movie theater, and at the end, I saw the directory of the hard drive. The opera was a 40GB file. What accounts for the tremendous size? So much bigger than Blu-ray.
-
Answer:
Because the file you saw was a 4K file. A blu ray blown up for a movie theater size screen would look about like a vhs tape on a TV screen.
