Where can I sell a used DVD player for cash easily? Maybe for parts?
-
I want to sell a used DVD player fairly quickly and I was wondering if there is anywhere where I can just directly send it to within the US, in exchange for money? Maybe a place that would buy it for parts? Ebay (and other online market places) aren't an option. I've already been though listing it on Ebay and a few other marketplaces forever with no interest (which is probably on account of that there are some things wrong with it such as it no longer has the ability to record and there is sometimes a sound when it runs, however if you just want to play movies, it works normally with no problems. Because of it's problems, that's why I figure I can sell it somewhere for parts.) I was also in talks with a guy at DVDExploder.com to sell it for parts, but they are based in the UK and what they were offering me for it was too little considering the really high shipping costs going to the UK. Where can I quickly and easily send a DVD player in exchange for cash easily, within the US? Thanks.

Answer:
It would be difficult as you would need to find someone that needed the parts from your particular make and model, if it was originally a high end model or something that is worth fixing it might have value and you may be able to sell it on Craigslist but if you have already tried e-bay and no one was interested I dought you will find anyone on cregislist either as e-bay is going to give you the widest audiance for that kind of sale... You could also try taking it apart and selling just the individual parts that you think may have value, this would also give you the advantage of lower shipping costs...I have a friend that sells used cameras on e-bay and he has found that when he tries to sell a whole camera that does not work he never gets any buyers but if he takes the camera apart and just sells the lens or the camera case, or the back cover; that he gets all kinda bits and often times makes more money than he would have made selling the broken camera, in the first place; when selling on e-bay don't put any minimum bid out, figure your shipping cost and just list it... if it sells for $3 so be it...you may also have to face the fact that your DVD player just does not have any value at this time.....You might also try Oaktree Enerprises but if its not worth fixing how are they going to give you any money for it....why would anyone want or need a DVD player fixed at this time??? You could also try a local electronics store that fixes DVD players but I dought they can give you more than $5 and still find it useful...

Good luck. New dvd players now sell for as little as $30.00. Nobody wants to buy cast offs when new units are so inexpensive.
