Is there a way to connect to cable tv through my pc?

• Hi, I'm building a home theatre pc and have an issue with sound connections ... I have a Samsung 51 inch 3d plasma tv and a fast new pc with a creative x-fi xtremegamer sound card. Currently the pc is connected to the tv by HDMI (for video) and the sound from the tv is coming back through the sound card by the tv's 'audio out' jack and a 3.5mm stereo cable which plugs into the soundcards line in jack. You see, the TV's speakers are crap and i want the tv to run through my soundcard and pc speakers. Soundcard + speaker specs: Speakers: Logitech x-530 - 5.1 surround.   Not sure if you can. Unless it's like mine where it has a switch for internal speakers or external speakers.
