How do I set up my Printer?

How do i set up a hp officejet 4500 wireless printer with a toshiba laptop?

I would like to know, step by step exactly where to start and how you set the printer up to work. Im not sure if you need a wireless internet connection for it to work. What do i do?

  No, you don't have to have a wireless network to use the printer--but with no wireless network, you'll need a USB cable to connect the printer to the laptop. The printer should have had a disk with it that will contain the drivers and the setup software. Put the driver in the laptop, and start it. It will probably bring up a screen with several choices--you want "install printer" or something similar. Let the software start installing. At some point, it will tell you to connect the printer to the laptop and turn it on. Do that when it tells you to, and also install the ink cartridges when instructed. You'll hear the printer making some sound as it gets itself set up, and it will probably print a calibration page, which you might need to then put on the scanner glass (not the doc feeder) and let the printer scan it to insure that the cartridges are working and properly calibrated. After that you can set the printer up for your wireless network (if you have one)
