How do I make the caps lock key a third shift key?

How to Fix Shift, Command, Option, Control, and Fn Keys on MacBook Pro?

  • I just had my hard drive replaced. With my old HD, if I just pressed the shift, option, command, control, or fn buttons once, it'd do a temporary lock so that the next key I pressed would be affected by it. For example, I could press the shift button, take my fingers off the keyboard, press the "d" key, and my computer would type a "D" instead. Or, say that I pressed the shift (or any of the others listed above) key twice in rapid succession. It'd make a permanent lock. So for example, again, if I pressed the shift key quickly twice, then it would be as if I had turned on CAPS LOCK. Essentially, my question is this: how do I toggle this function? Many thanks for any help.

  • Answer:

System Preferences > Universal Access > Keyboard > Sticky Keys.
