Okay, so since you have a pretty large budget, you have many choices. You can go with a nice, professional case, or a really cool gaming case that you can install LED fans into and has windows so that others can view your internals. So the case. If you want a professional case I recommend a Corsair Obsidian Series case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139012 If you want a cooler gaming case, you can go with a CM Storm Trooper, or a Railmax tornado I personally use a CM Storm Trooper, but I love the Railmax's lighting and window. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811156223 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119245&Tpk=storm%20troooper Now on to the processor, I recommend an intel i5 or i7. With your budget, I'd stick with an i7. You can get an intel i7 2600k. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115070 The motherboard, I think doesn't matter too much. As long as it has enough slots and ports for all my other things, I'm happy with it. So you can find one on your own. Go for an ATX Form Factor. You should have 3+ SATA ports and at least 2 PCI Express ports. The motherboard has to match your proccessor. Most of the better processors have LGA 1155 sockets, so look for a Motherboard with 1155 in its name. Your hard drive is next. To make things faster, you can buy a SSD. Those are much faster than HDDs, but way more expensive. I'll leave those for you to look at. You don't need to have a very big SSD drive. You can use it only for your boot drive, so a 40GB would be enough. For an HDD, i recommend a Samsung Spinpoint 1TB. If you need more memory, just buy more hard drives. 1TB will be around 100 dollars. I use this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152185 You will obviously need a DVD drive to upload your OS and other stuff. This one will be sufficient http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827118067 Your GPU is very important for gaming. If you want to go with an expensive but amazing one, a GeForce GTX 580 will be what you want. I use a GTX 560, 2 steps down, but also almost 200 dollars less. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127567 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127592 Your PSU will need to be enough to power your system. An 850W will be enough. I use a Cooler Master Silent Pro 850W. I prefer modular PSUs because there's no random wires that I don't need hanging out. You could also go with the more expensive, but more trusted brand of Corsair. A corsair HX850 will work and it is also modular. It is 170 dollars though. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171048 For your system, you probably want to use liquid cooling. From what I've heard, prebuilt liquid cooling is not as good and does not look as cool. If you buy the parts, you can build a much better system. If you google it, you should be able to find a good build guide. Your ram should be fast. I recommend G.Skill or Corsair Vengeance. Also, you want to buy more sticks of ram that have less memory each. The more of the slots you fill up, the faster and more efficient your computer will be. Make sure your ram is DDR3, as all new motherboards use those. I personally use G.SKill, but the choice is for you to make. If you go on newegg, they have a large variety of choices. Go for the ones that look cooler with a covering, because those have heat spreaders that help cool the memory. Here's a great bundle on newegg.com that has a lot of the important components. It is a really high end build, so you might like it. You will need to buy parts because the bundle provides only the most important parts. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.864972 Monitors, mice, keyboards, speakers are all your own preference. Those have nothing to do with the performance of the computer. Also some good brands are... Gigabyte, MSI, Asus for motherboard Corsair, Cooler Master, Thermaltake for PSU MSI, Gigabyte for GPU Corsair and Cooler Master for cases and cooling supplies. Corsair and G.Skill for RAM I wish I could post more links, but Yahoo! Answers will only let me post up to 10
