A GOOD RECORDING SYSTEM?

Trouble recording system output sounds?

  • In the windows 7 help file for the default sound-recording device, it says to open up "recording device" from sound options, and then to enable the device you want to use, "in my case, the stereo-mix device, and then set it as default. Then it says to go to properties and turn up the volume and click ok. back in the sound options dialog, it says to click ok again. It then says that I open up sound recorder, start recording, and then play whatever audio it is I want to record. I tested this with both system sounds and sounds played from the Internet, but the resulting file was silent. Does anyone know what I need to do to get it to work right?

  • Answer:

yer on the right track. now restart your computer and try to record again. I have to restart sometimes when setting up to record like that too. now sound recorder should show green as it picks up internal sounds playing.
