How do I print Microsoft Reader (lit) file?

Problem opening pdf files?

  • I have read all the other questions about similiar problems but nothing seems to be working for me. have received email from my bank with attachment that i need to print and send back. When i open it it is just a lot of letters/numbers/shapes. I downloaded adobe reader but still the same. It does not give me the option to open it in adobe or anything it just opens it to note pad. I bought this lap top and it only had a trial of microsoft but i can open most other things. Can anyone give me an idiots guide on how to solve this? I am wary of down loading anymore as i do not know what i am doing. For example i down loaded win locker (what ever that is ) and now when i try to open file it asks for this password. Help ! Thanks

You need to set the default program in Windows. Start > Default Programs > Set a Default Program

Other answers

Go to the file...right click to get the pull down menu....find "Open with", click the box to always use this program (this will change your association for pdf files)...then use the browse to navigate to Adobe Reader's .exe file. PDF files will then open in Adobe. Look in your Adobe Folder in Windows\programs....something like AcroRd32.exe
