1995 Ford Taurus problems?

What about a 1995 Ford Taurus LX? whats the common PROBLEMS?

  • THE TAURUS I'M LOOKING HAS JUST 50 000 miles on it one owner, never crashed, but i want to know whats the common problems in this car for i look before purchasing it......

  • Answer:

These are very good vehicles as long as the maintenance is kept up . If it has the 3.8 liter they are prone to more problems than the 3.0 liter . Such as cooling system issues and oil leaks . The 3.0 oil pan gasket if not replaced yet will need to be upgraded and the expansion tank for the cooling system should be clean if not you will need to replace it eventually . Other than that pretty good cars .

It is a 17 year old car that hasn't been driven much. Lack of use can be worse than overuse. Seals dry out, rubber bushings rot, fluids get contaminated and so on. The major issues with the 95 Taurus are transmission failures. All first, second and third generation Tauruses had lousy transmissions.

transmissions, drive axles, ignition modules, valve cover and oil pan gasket leaks, these are most common but i have seen some that are the fault of poor care of the car.
