How much luggage can one carry on a Korean train?

Can I bring a train case full of makeup as carry-on luggage?

  • I'm going to be moving to Asia (from the United States) for one year for work. I am a makeup junkie and have collected quite a few over the years. I don't plan to take everything I have, but I am planning on taking most of it. A rough estimate of what I plan to bring would be about: - 1 blush palette (6 blushes) - 7 individual blushes - 3 eyeshadow palettes - about 5 single eyeshadows - 7 powders (face powders and bronzers) - 2 loose powders - 10 loose eyeshadows (pigments) - about 20 lipsticks Yea, I know, it's quite a lot. Like I said, I'm a makeup junkie. lol. Everything amounts to quite a bit of money that's why I'm scared of checking them in and risking them breaking into pieces so I figured I might as well use my train case as a carry-on luggage. My questions are: - Is there a restriction as to how much of the above I can bring? Will I get "flagged" for bringing so much? - I know I can take lipsticks with me, but will I be allowed to bring as much as 20? I already know that I can't bring liquids, mascaras, creams, etc in my carry-on luggage so I had already planned on stuffing them in my checked-in one. I just want to make sure that I won't get in trouble for bringing so much makeup with me. lol,. Thanks!

you will have no problems with powders, but anything that has the consistency of a paste must be in a separate 1 Q baggie. each item must be less than 3 oz. and you are only allowed 1 baggie. you can put them in checked luggage, but note that luggage might be opened and each item checked (and if cannot be identified, then confiscated) +++++++++++++

Hmm, I don't see why not, that doesn't seem so unreasonable. But on the flip side but some industrious TSA agent might find it odd and then you'd run into problems. You'd be best either leaving them all in checked baggage or splitting them - with some in your checked baggage and the remainder carry-on. Best to be safe.

Hey Chrissy. I've done this plenty of times, there isn't any restrictions as of taking a makeup on the plane. If you have liquid make up I suggest you put it in a zip lock bag. Other than that everything is a okay.

it all has to go in the hold. As with most heavy makeup wearers, you are clearly a bit silly so to explain - the limits apply to liquids, gels and pastes. So all your slap counts, and anything over the limit of 100ml packages in a small plastic bag will be confiscated. Put it in the hold and you can take as much as you like. It's not actually worth anything, I know you paid a lot for it but that's your problem, makeup is an easy money maker. Don't worry about it getting stolen. BTW do you know that it is hot in quite a lot of Asia? So all the slap will melt off your face.
