Can the post office deny receiving my package and keep it from me?

I ordered a new droid through verizon and i only have a po box and they couldn't send to a po box so they had it sent to the usps post office close to me. verizon sent the package through fedex mail. i got confirmation that it was delivered, when i go to the post office tomorrow and bring delivery confirmation that even says who signed for it, can the post office keep my package from me even though my name is on the package and i have delivery confirmation? PLEASE HELP
