What will happen after a pse clerk at the post office (usps) completed his or her 360 days?

I am confused. I read that after 360 of employent as a pse clerk, they take a 5 day break and rehired a pse clerk for a 2nd 360 term if reappointed. However, I asked several union shop stewards and they told me after the 1st 360 and the 5 day break, pse's are automatically career clerks with career pay & benifits. I don't know what to believe. Can someone help me!!!

Your shop stewards should have to resign! They need to read their copy of the labor agreement. There is nothing in the current labor agreement that states that PSEs will "automatically become career clerks after their first appointment". You can go online and download the current agreement from the APWU website. Or, if you prefer, you can order one and have it sent to your home.
