Do you think Canada's government is an effective democracy?

• Do you think Canada is doing an effective job at being a democratic society? I think they aren't doing such a great job, because a lot of the issues going on nowadays aren't getting the input of the public - the people actually affect - instead, it's just the parliament. The last time I checked, a democracy was majority vote, but isn't Canada not really democratic, because it's not even including most of the population? What do you think, and why?
