    Here's a word of good advice. Your marriage ended in a separation (I am guessing not a divorce). You didn't say if you're divorced or not. So I'm going to go on "just separated recently". Going out on dates with her isn't going to fix what happened between you. Its a bandaid. What you should be focusing on is all the reasons why your marriage broke up in the first place, and thinking, carefully, what it is that you and she can both do for each other to change the nature of your relationship so that you both can be happy again. The dates won't fix that. Its the goals. You need to show her that you're changing, evolving, making the efforts to get rid of whatever behavior patterns you were engaged in that alienated her; and she has to know what it is that she did that alienated you. Then you both need to focus on the changes. A great looking piece of cake, isn't going to taste good unless its made right. If you want the sugar in the recipe then you have to add it in. Otherwise it'll be a great looking cake with the illusion of being sweet. Substance is more important than form. Taking her on emotionally charged dates might get her attention, but the reality is if you want to win her heart back, and her yours; both of you could go to the movies and hang out at a burger joint together and you'd be just as happy provided that you're both into each other and happy. Can't get to happy without the changes. If you really want this 2nd chance, then you have to both work on making it work.

If you initiated the divorce with her, you should probably feel apologetic for breaking the wedding vow to her. If that's the case, you should bring her to where both of you started dated initially.
