What can I do with drive "D" my recovery drive?

My recovery d: drive is nearly full; is this bad?

  • My recovery d: drive on my desktop computer is almost full and lately the computer has gotten something-has-to-be-done-about-this slow. Could the full recovery be causing the slowness? Also, what happens when the recovery is completely full? Is there anyway that I can make a back-up DVD and then delete the recovery? Thanks! Oh, my computer is a Compaq Presario PC, running on Windows 7. Not sure if that helps or not, with an 8.77GB recovery drive (almost full).

  • Answer:

Yes a filled hard disk will greatly affect your computer speed. Since i is also full, it will take longer from you computer to find information on hard disc. also it is harder for it to find a free spot to write data You can first uninstall program that you no longer use then remove file that you no longer needed then perform disk cleanup by right click the hard drive icon then defrag the hard drive You should also fix some windows error and clean up the register if you computer is running slow. However you can't do the last two task manually. There are program that can perform all the task i listed with one click
