When to stop fever medication in 2 yr old?

• Hi All, Yesterday night he had fever and cold with temp. 103.6 (i checked temp. in afternoon it was normal). I gave him fever medication, after 1 hr, temp. came to normal. I continued one more dose at 5:00am. How many doses i need to continue more. He is normal now. Last time when he had fever (in feb), I stopped medication when the temp. is reduced, the temp. raised and the fever continued for 3 days with normal (medicated) and high temp.s (not medicated) Thanks

  When a child has a fever its usually a sign of infection if his temp goes to 104 he needs to be in the er asap,so when the fever first occurs give him ibuprofen the dose recommended on the bottle,give him a luke warm bath to make him more comfortable if the fever isnt breaking give him tylanol,even if the fever breaks switch off the drugs as prescribed on the bottle for 24 hrs if it comes back or doesnt break in that time span then your gonna have to take him to the doc he will probably be put on antibiotics to help his body fight whatever and they usually give them a steroid injection to break the fever if need be,and through all of this make sure he stays very hydrated babies love pedialite popsicles and pedialite drinks good luck
