How can I get the value of dynamically created input?

Atkins problems... I created a Super Smoothie! I want your input on its nutritional value and worth... Please ?

  • Ok so here she is "Green Jeans" Smoothie Recipe by: Jenn Martinello 6 to 8 ounces of fresh juiced cucumber, blueberry, raspberry, & strawberry 1/2 Cup of 2% Fage Greek yogurt 6 Ounces of water 1 Hunk of ice 1 Tablespoon of Flax seed 1 Tablespoon of Coconut flakes 2 Tablespoons of previously soaked in water for 10 minutes Chia seeds. Presoaking prevents dehydration, caused by unsoaked Chia in the body absorbing your water. 1 Tablespoon of Spirulina powder 2 Tablets of 1 million ... Acidophillus 1 Tablespoon of Organic peanut butter 2 Tablespoon of organic Coconut oil Blend, and pour a 8 ounce cup, save the rest for later in refrigeration. Just add ice to blend again and serve remains. Take this everyday! Then see what happens ;) What do you think of this creation from a nutritious standpoint?? It's supposed to be high good fat, and protein, and fiber. I'm moving through phases in Atkins, and can now have some berries. I thought since I had a Herxheimer reaction aka Atkins triggering yeast die off. My mouth swelled up and I broke out in hives and sore throat. It's painful to eat... So I created this smoothie and named it after lol my Dads old nickname from the 70's... The color seems fitting :P So I wanted your inputs, thank you and if you like to try it enjoy it. Cheers to good health!

Sounds pretty awesome! I would suggest plugging in the foods into a free online food log (like fitday.com) & find out exactly the nutrition breakdown. For a smoothie, I personally would rather have more chia seed than flax seed (make sure flax is ground before using, chia doesn't need to be ground) & put the ground flax seed in another food. I didn't like chia seeds in the blender, it broke the seeds down & made my smoothie gritty. Next time, I'll fold in the chia seed gel after all the other stuff has been blended. I'm not a big fan of juicing - throwing the foods in a blender is one thing but juicing completely separates the juice from the fiber & the juice can overload the body. Does the fruit juice not trigger a yeast reaction? I'm curious how you incorporate coconut oil & peanut butter with ice in a smoothie - any way, it's all good. The coconut oil could also give you a herx reaction though. If you can get whole fat yogurt, that is healthier than lower fat. Fat in dairy is about the healthiest part. Sugar free yogurt is a good low carb food, especially greek yogurt - the carbs are mostly in the whey (but there are a lot of health benefits to whey also). The bacteria convert some of the sugars to lactic acid so even though it shows 12g per cup, only 4-8g count. Sometimes I'll make gelatin & soft set it with ice cubes, then add yogurt to make a large bowl with not a lot of carbs. Dr. Jack Goldberg, co-author of the GO-diet and the Four Corners Diet, who has done extensive testing of fermented milk products says that most commercial yogurt with live cultures have about 8 grams of carbohydrate per cup, but that that amount will continue to slowly diminish over time, even after purchase. I did a green smoothie a day for a year with nearly an ounce each of chlorella, spirulina, kelp, wheat grass, turmeric & at first mixed it with fruit juice to try to make it drinkable but it didn't help much. I finally mixed raw apple cider vinegar & raw honey (letting them ferment) & used a couple of tablespoons of this mixture - which helped but it wasn't til I started adding chia seed gel that made it palatable.
