What ascii character would sort before the dot character?

Finding Plain Text message from a 16 character message stored in 8 bit ASCII?

  • Hi can i get some help, the 16 bit character message is displayed below but i do not have an idea how to get the plain text message from it. All i know is the string is stored in 8 bit ASCII. 45 50 52 4F 4D 20 53 6F 66 74 77 61 72… I would appreciate if someone could explain how to do it, because i want to understand how it it is done I have attempted it and i found this ASCII table http://www.ascii-code.com/ I used that table and it stated that 45 was a hyphen and 50 was the number 2 and 52 was the number 4. I am not sure this is the correct way to get the plain text but i have no idea how two. I would appreciate any help.

ASCII codes are standard but I can't remember them off-hand I can only say that they follow the alphabet, lower case then upper case. Sorry I can't really help - I threw out my computer textbooks long ago.
