Baked chicken rice and gravy recipe Ingredients Serves 4 People 2 cups long-grain white rice 4 cups water 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts 3 tablespoons butter 1 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper 1/4 teaspoon ground paprika 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme 3/4 cup cold water 1/4 teaspoon salt Directions Place rice in a saucepan with 4 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 20 minutes or until rice is tender. Prepare chicken while the rice is cooking. In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme. Use a finger to grind the thyme to a powder in the palm of your hand before adding. Coat the chicken breasts in the flour mixture. Reserve 2 tablespoons of the flour mixture for the gravy. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Place chicken in the skillet, and cook for about 10 minutes on each side, until the chicken is golden brown, and the juices run clear. Remove chicken from the pan, leaving the drippings and crusty bits in. Whisk together 3/4 cup water, 2 tablespoons of the flour mixture, and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Whisk into the skillet, scraping the browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thick and bubbly. Add additional water 1 tablespoon at a time if the gravy is too thick. Serve chicken alongside rice topped with gravy.

For easy Recipe: Bake the chicken like you usually would. Take the pre-made gravy with the water and add some cooked onions and pepper to it, pour a small amount onto the chicken to give it some moisture. Make the rice however you like, easiest way is to boil it until cook with salt according to your likes. When done cooking the rice, put that next to the chicken. Pour some gravy onto your chicken, just as much as you want and place a pat of butter on your rice. (If you want.) ^-^ Hope this helps~

I would bake chicken with thyme, rosemary, or sage, with a little lemon juice, salt and pepper until it is just barely done, then let that cool. Cook the rice. In a pan, melt two tablespoons of butter. Whisk in 3 tablespoons of flour. Cook that paste, whisking constantly, for 3 minutes. Add two cups of cold chicken broth, one cup at a time, and whisk to completely incorporate everything. Bring that to a boil, whisking ooccasionally then when it boils, cut the heat to simmer, add salt, pepper, and any other spices you want. I wouldn't add any other spices. Let that simmer until you think it is thick enough. Cut the chicken up or shred it. Mix it with the rice, then add the sauce. Mix well. Top with grated a little grated parmesan. Bake that in an oven preheated to 400 degrees farenheit until the sides are bubbling and it's brown enough for you. Good luck! (:
