Who can get a LULAC scholarship?

Can I get a scholarship for playing the viola, but a scholarship to a non-musical school?

• I play the viola. And if it is not offending or braggish, I am very good. I have had my Orchestra teacher tell me that if I keep it up, schools will be trying to claim me. I know I have to be very good and I am willing to work hard. But I want to know if it is possible to get a scholarship for playing an instrument, but to a regular university? Because I know you can get scholarships for a music school, duh.:P But I wanted to know if that would be the same as like, a football player getting a scholarship to a regular university for playing football amazingly. I understand that this may be I stupid question but I wasn't sure so bear with me. Please and thank you.(:

  It really depends on the school. Schools are often interested in attracting talented students but your chances will be better if you plan to major in music, or if the school has an orchestra that they are known for. They want to attract talent for a reason, so if your talent won't be put to use at the school, they won't really care. There are private scholarships as well, and you might do very well there, too. But again, you would be more successful if you are majoring in music.
