Apart from the steps issued in the link below I would also suggest showing the school how interested you are. Every college program wants it's students to succeed and this goes beyond your academic capabilities. While your grades are important you also want to show the school that you are the kind of person that they will want to have around. Many ivy league schools have summer programs on campus or internships. See if there is a way to communicate with a current student and get the inside scoop on what it takes to succeed at your chosen school. Most importantly is the entrance interview, concentrate over the next few years on growing into the kind of comfortable person who will really shine in an interview. The biggest part of being good learner is to be a good listener! Please be careful to safeguard your happiness while you work towards your goal! You're good enough! You're Smart enough! and Gosh darn it, People like you!

All colleges look at your unweighted GPA, which is based on the 4 point scale. The 5 point that you're talking about is a weighted system. Colleges can't use weighted grades, because there's no standardized weighting system (your school might weight on a 6 point scale, while someone else's school weights on a 5 point scale). A 'B' in a weighted class might be a 4.something, but the college is going to consider it a 3.5. Someone who has a 3.5 with AP, Honors, or IB courses will still be more competitive than someone with a 3.5 without those courses. You really have to have all As to be competitive for an Ivy League School. You also need leadership experience, and accomplishments in any extracurricular activities (just taking piano lessons is a hobby - participating in piano competitions, or working at a music camp for younger students, or something like that is an extracurricular).
