What is considered a good GPA at university?

Is the University of Delaware considered to be a good school? Could i get into it?

  • So currently i'm a junior in high school and i have a GPA of 88.7 which i think is like a 3.3 or 3.4 converted. My SAT score is around a high 1500 but im working to get it higher. I have always wanted to go to NYU but i kind of just realized that that may not be realizstic considering my grades. So i heard some good things about the University of Delaware and some ppl told me i might be able to get into it. Is that true? Also, the problem is I dont really know anything about it. Is Delaware considered an impressive school? Like i know its not like IVY League or anything but would people be at all impressed if you got into it? lol. Like im just trying to get an idea of what kind of school it is. Also, i do participate in after school activities at school. For example, I'm in the community service club and the environmental club at school. Im currently the treasurer of the environemental club and i'm going to be co-president next year. (im not lying lol. the advisor of the club already told me that he decided next years board positions early this year:) ) Also, i dont currently have a board position in the commuity service club, but, i have been a very active member in the club since freshman year so i hope to get one next year. Also, I plan on getting my MBA next year. Also, I am very interested in law. I have always wanted to be a lawyer and have always wanted to go to a school with a good prelaw program. I heard that NYU has a great one (one of the main reasons i wanted to go there.) But how is Delaware's law program? Do they have one? Is it considered to be a good one? Also, if anyone just has any basic info. on Delaware-like the campus life, the general environement of the school, etc. that would be very helpful too. Thanks!

  • Answer:

No specific undergraduate program is required for Pre-Law. Many pre-law students major in Business or Politics, but really any good liberal arts program will do. http://www.prelawhandbook.com/2012_top_25_law_schools But just because its law school is good, doesn't automatically make it the best undergraduate school. For example, if you wanted to study environmental law, you might want to attend a school with a good environmental program, with Bio and Chem classes. http://www.thedailygreen.com/living-green/blogs/recycling-design-technology/best-environmental-studies-colleges-460710 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHRXGQhpib8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9TjEklyF7-E Check student reviews of colleges by Googling the words "student reviews" and the names of the schools you are interested in (one at time). Also try Googling just the name of each school by itself. Then click where it says “Google reviews.” Estimate your chances of getting accepted at any particular school using the Cappex “What are my chances?” calculator. http://www.cappex.com To find appropriate colleges use https://bigfuture.collegeboard.org/college-search http://www.collegeconfidential.com/college_search/ Also check out: http://www.princetonreview.com/college-education.aspx Learn about professors http://www.ratemyprofessors.com/ more college admissions info https://sites.google.com/site/paul7collegeinfo/
