Should I transfer to another University?

Nervous to transfer to another university?

• Currently I'm at a university taking engineering.I did fine freshman year but struggled my sophomore year and my gpa lowered to a 2.39 :( I've definitely been trying harder this school year, but I'm trying to transfer over to another university closer to where my parents live because it's expensive for me to live away and I feel maybe the new university will be a place that I can fit in better. I called the undergrad admissions and explained the process that they also look at my high school transcript. My high school gpa was a 3.8 and I did fairly well on my SATs. I've also taken summer classes at a community college and did well and will also send them to the university I plan to transfer to. I was wondering if anybody has had an experience similar to this and were able to get accepted when they transferred? I just would like to hear people with personal experiences.

  I started out at a state system university in pennsylvania. My first semester I did terrible and ended with a 2.3 GPA. I ended up switching my major and after two semester (one year) later, my GPA had risen to a 3.1. I wasn't happy at that school though so I decided to transfer after a year and a half. I went from a public state school to a private catholic university. Although I do not like the people here (they are very stuck up) I am glad I transferred because I just wasn't happy. The process isn't too difficult. Sounds like you already sent in all the necessary information to the university.. now all you have to do is wait to hear back. If you're in, great! If not, try to make the most of what you have at your current university. Good luck to you
