How do you use a sound equalizer?

How can I use any software or equalizer to improve the sound quality of guitar track at home?

  • I use audacity for recording guitar solos and riffs to make tracks at home.but I need to know how this software or any other easy-to-use software(like reaper or sonar or neundo) or any kind of equalizer will help me get crystal clear sound of guitar.my guitar is SX pirates,processor zoom G2.Or any kinda guidance to improve recording quality.thank you.

    If i read this correctly, your using a Digital audio recorder to record your guitar, then you transfer your DAR files to your computer. If this is the case, the quality issue might be right there. You could improve your audio by hooking your Guitar to a Mixer. I use - http://asimplelife.ca/boss.html I have all audio capture devices, this being microphones, Keyboard and stereos, feeding into my Alto mixer. From there, I have from the Phones port, a cable leading to the Microphone port on the sound card in computer and the Main Mix stereo cables go to my smaller mixer, down to one stereo wire to my camcorder's MIC jack.. Doing it this way, I can control and mix all the audio I want in videos or on my computer. If I want real time mixing , I hook a pair of studio speakers to the Control Room ports on the alto mixer. That way I do not have to record, listen and then rerecord and so on.
