Anyone know How can you use normal headphones mic with a walkie talkie?
-
I have to use a walkie talkie at work. I figured out how to use my headphones with it but was wondering if anyone knew how to convert it so I could use my headphones mic also. Thanks

Answer:
You just re-wire the mic part and the plug to match what the radio expects. How exactly depends on your headphones and the microphone. I re-wired an old Nokia handsfree (earbud with microphone/button unit, and 4 ring 2.5mm plug) for Cobra FRS radios. That involved swapping the earphone and headphone signals, rewiring the button to have the correct electronic action for a PTT, and selecting the correct PTT resistor.
