How to take money out of a Bank Certificate? Plz help?

• A year or so ago, me and my dad opened up a "18 Month Certificate." It has the 500$ min. in it and all that, but today it matures. They put the mature date on this day (April 9) because it is my 18th birthday. So that being said, am I allowed to goto the bank and withdraw about $300? And leave the remaining money in that account? If I can, do i just need to bring my license, account number, and the paper showing my balance and mature date that the bank sends out monthly? I just want to take out 300$ but since when we started the CD I was 15, I keep thinking it will cause a problem because I was underage or something? It is my 18th birthday(like i said earlier) so that is a legal age to take money out of a bank without parental permission correct???? I just want to withdraw money and leave the rest in there. Is that possible? --sorry if I repeated a lot of things, I just am kind of stressed and want to have allthe correct info written so you guys know what I am talking about! --Also, there will still be the $500 min. in the account if i were to take $300 out. If the min. even matters anymore? sorry if i make no sense please can anyone help me ?

  Have you ever considered speaking to a representative of the financial institution that your father purchased the CD? Have you ever considered speaking with your father? A CD is straight forward. When it matures, you get back the original deposit and accrued interest. You can spend the money as you wish, or you can "roll over" any or all of the money for another period of time. Too, if you withdraw the money before the CD matures, you will forfeit a lot of the accrued interest (for specifics, you need to read the legal terms and conditions of the CD).
