What are some good english art/folk songs for mezzo soprano?

  • I am planning on auditioning for Oakland University's music program. I need an english song for my audition. The requirements are: Classical song literature and folksong arrangements such as those listed in the MSVMA Solo and Ensemble list. A musical theatre selection may be substituted for one of the above, if it is a strong suit for the singer. I am a mezzo soprano, and have a pretty good range. I am just trying to get some ideas started, so I can choose my english piece. : ]
