Is a tight steering wheel normal on 2001 Honda Accord?

2001 honda accord wheel bearing?

  • Ok i have a 2001 honda accord and the rear passenger tire is making a grinding noise sometimes and is vibrating. I am pretty sure that it is a wheel bearing but I was told that front wheel drive cars do not have wheel bearing in the rear tires... so my question is that on a front wheel drive 2001 honda accord are there wheel bearings in the rear tires?

  • Answer:

Ask yourself this; If it doesn't have bearings, how does it go round and round? ALL wheels have bearings, even on an old Red Flyer wagon bearings (bushing type) are used.

Yes, you have both front and rear wheel bearings. Best to make sure it's that wheel bearing to be replace. So Jack up the suspected side and turn the wheel. If there's any resistant then its the bearing for sure and also if you hear the sound that you're hearing the first place. Also compare what you've gathered and try it on the other side to compare...

Yes. All wheels have some kind of bearing in order to go around like they do. The rear ones on your car are probably a sealed unit that needs to pressed out and back in.

John

Yes there are wheel bearings. They're commonly called hub bearings for the rear. They're not too hard to replace.
