How do you fall out of love?

How do I stop thinking "maybe he'll fall in love with me later on" when he said he'll never love me?

• I feel so stupid! I fell in love with my best friend and he says he doesn't want to date any girl right now, and that his feelings for me will never change (he means that he will never love me). He says he wants to stay friends though, but just never date. He also said if we DID date, it would end up horribly because he thinks, "Oh, if I just say "I love you" and I don't really feel it, it'll be bad.." I understand that completely. But in the back of my mind, I'm thinking, "Oh! Well, I'll just stay friends with him, but maybe later on he'll fall in love with me!!" Or something like that to where I'm living in this stupid dream that I wanna wake up from but I can't! I hate thinking, "Oh maybe he'll fall in love with me one day.." (because my friends [both guys and girls] say that too..they say "he might fall in love with you when you don't love him anymore) so I'm like, "Oh okay.." and it's just this crazy confusing battle of mixed emotions in my head right now.. I just need to stop thinking that maybe he'll fall in love with me later on, because honestly even though I HOPE it happens, deep down inside I really don't think it will...because he SAID his feelings will NEVER change for me, so obviously he'll NEVER love me right??

  Right. Time to move on. I'm sure being rejected doesn't feel nice (I wouldn't know), but on the bright side, you'll find someone else who you'll be crazy about soon enough (you sound young). Just cut your ties, be firm and try to distance yourself from him w/o being mean. Good luck with you.
