Sims 3 game keeps freezing?

My Sims 2 Game Keeps Freezing!?

  • I have all the Sims 2 games on my HP Pavillion laptop. My game has worked perfectly and without a single issue for years now, up until today. I do have a lot of custom content that I have downloaded on my game, but it has never affected it before. I have played up until yesterday without issue, except today when I went to play my game, it froze while loading the neighborhood. I shut down my game and tried again about 500 times, cleaned the disk, and restarted my computer 4 times. I closed all other processes running on my computer, as I read memory may be an issue. I have NOT downloaded any new content, installed any new games, or changed settings on my computer since yesterday, that may have caused the game to stop working. I have no idea what is causing this, nor what to do. All I know is that my game loads perfectly to start out, but as soon as it attempts to load a neighborhood it stops responding. What would cause this? And if it is possible, I would like to stay clear of uninstalling my games because even besides having to reinstall all the games, I have a lot of cc, houses, and familys that I would hate to lose.

I have The Sims 2 on the same exact laptop as you. It doesn't work right. I raised all my settings to high and nothing changed. Then I gave it to my sister and she got it to work on her HP computer (I mean, like, a computer, not a laptop). I think laptops aren't meant for that kind of treatment. Next time don't download cc. It comes right back and kicks your computer in the butt. Also, try getting a gaming laptop. That may help. Ask a professional about The Sims 2 on your laptop or if it will work on some other one. Well laptops are not really suited for games like sims 2 as sims 2 is a really "big" game . Sims 2 works better on a PC . Maybe your computer is getting older and is struggling to run such a big game. Maybe you have a lot of files on your laptop that you should delete.Have you tried sims 3 ?

Did you change anything in your laptop's settings? Maybe it just needs updating, updates usually slow laptop's down. Go on to the game settings, and try to find what's wrong with it. Maybe you just pressed game speed accidentally without noticing and slowed it down. Like you said at the end, you have a lot of cc, houses and family's that you'd hate to lose. It probably has to much data to load.
