Which Bioshock ending did you get?

Why cant Mass Effect 3 have a happy ending and a bittersweet ending?

• I'm probably going to catch a lot of flack from this but its been bothering me. I've been a huge fan of the mass effect series since the first game. I loved how it blended combat with story and character development. The second installment was even better and the 3rd game was even more amazing. Except for the ending. Now I understand that a bittersweet ending can be satisfying sometimes, the hero sacrifices himself so others can live peacefully etc... thats cool and I think it should definitely be an option for those that want it but I think there should also be an optimistic "hero rides off into the sunset" type ending as well for those that want it. I don't like being pushed into a corner where my character dies, the mass relays explode and the Normandy crashes and in which the only choice I can make is the color of the explosions. I mean it just seems that's completely different then what the series emphasized, the players choices and the possible consequences from that choice. Same say that gamers that want an ending change feel entitled or are just being "whiners" personally I dont feel "entitled" to anything Id understand if bioware didn't change the ending it is their product, but then again the next time I go to buy one of their games I might hesitate before making a purchase. I dont think an optimistic ending would ruin the franchise for me unless it was forced on me like the current one is. Gaming is kind of my "happy place" I go to get away from all the depressing things in the real world, to actually see something work out right if I wanted to see something depressing Id turn on the news.
