What is double compensation?

What type of compensation should i ask for here?

  • bed bath and beyond -- opening a 379.99 dollar blender, its completely scratched up on the sides, permanent fingerprints, smears of some type of cream, and actually a small drop of the last person who used it dried up smoothie on the lid. the issue is that this is the second defective 100+ dollar item that came defective upon opening. but the problem is .. that living in manhattan i dont have a car, and have to bring the items back literally on foot ( a long distance, through buses, and walking etc..) takes like a half a day.. and the thing is HEAVY. I called customer service and also mentioned.. that a sodastream i purchased last month came with the flavors already opened, and leaking onto the box and everywhere, and i thought that was a single incident -- (again -- i carried that back to the store for an exchange). I actually went on foot again last night to return a faulty blender that didnt quite puree properly.. and that took me sum hours, and then i bought a more expensive blender, brought it home.. and yet again -- as i mentioned it was visibly scratched, with smears of some substance on it, and clearly used.. i called bed bath and beyond main number, and explain the problem, and they recommended i speak to a manager who then told me that was awful and someone wud be contacting me about it. im not a trouble maker -- but i do want to try and get something for this problem.. when the guy calls.. at the very least -- if not free pickup .. and exchange.. then compensation for taxi money to and from the store? or if they cant do that.. a discount on the item itself.. because it will take more time energy and pain carrying the thing back.. as i cant afford to pay an additionally 20 dollars on taxis along with such an expensive blender, while all the produce i bought for it goes bad in my fridge. not to mention the first blender i bought i had to wait 2 months before getting a ride from a friend to return it due to faulty blades. so all in all... im stuck here with a used scratched item.. for which i do not have the monetary means to drive back. and will probably end up.. carrying it all the way there, and a new one all the way back quite a distance . now also, this is a manhattan store -- and there shud b some expectation that not too many people have cars. so.. when the manager calls me.. what shud i ask for , what type of compensation.. how can i express my needs, and what if anything am i entitled to do you think? on the phone, the main manager said they definitely have ways of taking care of the problem, and that i shouldn't feel i have to keep the item because i dont have means of driving it back. so.. any advice?

I'd just get them to take it back and not keep buying stuff from there at all.

You will get a new blender and that is all. They do not have to pay for your time or travel. You can ask for it to be picked up but they do not have to do that either.

You can ask for anything but I doubt you will get anything at all because you did not return the items in a timely fashion. No doubt they will say that you were the one who scratched the items. I buy things there on a regular basis and have never had any problems.
