Jehovah's Witnesses, why did you break away from the group that Jesus selected in 1914?
-
According to teachings, in 1914, Jesus returned invisibly and selected a group called the "Bible Students". Shortly after that there was a power play for control which lead to a great division in the Bible Students. The man who seized control of the publishing division, The Watchtower lost over two thirds of the members who remained loyal to the group that Jesus chose. The new leader went on to make a complete break from Jesus' group by renaming his new religion "Jehovah's Witnesses" Both came from the same group that Jesus approved, both still exist and preach worldwide with many of the same teachings. One group has become a broad and spacious organization that frequently covers up scandals, jumps into bed with political groups and is known for it's authoritarian demand for obedience to a board of directors of a corporation. The other is a small, narrow collection of people who continue to faithfully preach even though their message is usually overshadowed by the constant blunders of the group that broke away from them. Given that both come from the same group that Jesus approved in 1914, both use Jehovah's name, and preach of a paradise earth door to door world wide. Can you show me scripturally why Jehovah would only look in favor on a group of men that have a long history of failed promises that they made in Jehovah's name? Didn't Jesus even stop his disciples from telling someone not to preach in his name saying that those that are not against them are for them?

Answer:
The Bible Students were just to tame for Judge Rutherford's bombastic and confrontational style. He needed to be noticed, he needed for people to see him as something special. That is why during a horrible recession he purchased two 16 cylinder Cadillacs, a home an farm on Staten Island, an estate in San Diego, wore fine silk shirts imported from China, had his own brothers make illegal liquor for him during the prohibition. I know all of this and more, because my father drove those Cadillacs and carried a concealed weapon to act as a body guard for him. My mother attended his home on Staten Island and had to keep all his fine clothes in order. He was in every sense of the word a leader of his own cult. Passing rules and policies that jw still to this day obey without question. Charles T Russell was eulogized by the Watchtower before Rutherford actually took over, here are few quotes: 1916 "Charles Taze Russell, thou hast, by the Lord, been crowned a king; and through the everlasting ages thy name shall be known amongst the people, and thy enemies shall come and worship at thy feet." {WR Dec 1 1916 6015} 1916 "Thousands of the readers of Pastor Russell's writings believe that he filled the office of 'that faithful and wise servant', and that his great work was giving to the Household of Faith meat in due season. His modesty and humility precluded him from openly proclaiming this title, but he admitted as much in private conversation." {WT Dec 1 1916 357} 1916 "We must make the distinction between Brother Russell as a creature and his official capacity as 'that servant' of the Master to give out the 'meat in due season.' To disregard the Message would mean to disregard the Lord." {WR Dec 15 1916 6024} Rutherford is responsible for so much of this religions current teachings, most jw have no idea who the man was. A disgusting, self centered man, who longed for recognition and took upon himself the title of "Judge" when in fact he had only served as such at a small courts 'temporary' position. Yet he bestowed the title on himself, thus giving him more prestige. Jw today need to really learn more about their early beginnings, those who do not learn from the past, may suffer the consequences for many generations to come. @ 1914 is already another in a long line of failed dates this organization has pointed to. " "Why do Jehovah's witnesses say that Christ 'returned' in the year 1914 and then began to rule as King? Because they have faith that it is so. Why do they teach that the universal war called Armageddon will take place within this present generation and will utterly wipe out this world's present systems of religion, commercialism and politics, and that millions of people will survive that global catastrophe and live on forever on earth under ideal conditions? It is because they have faith that it will be so." {WT Jan 15 1957 73} In other words because they say it so, it is so. Terrific, easy button that any religion would be proud to own. Yet the WTBS will not share that distinction with anyone or any group, body, or organization. They ALONE know what the TRUTH is.

The JWs think their belief is the only true faith. My experience with them shows them to be very wrong!! Dead wrong!!!

Except that Jesus didn't "invisibly" return in 1914. Maybe you have lots of "invisible" evidence for His return......... Um........ Never mind...... I tell you what. I'll sell you an "invisible" bridge for $1,000,000. What a bargain!

Can you name a church who doesn't have failings within it in history except for the original while the apostles were still leading and which they said there would be a falling away? Small? Popularity means nothing to the truth I don't care about past as much as I care are people doing right today. Did they correct where they were wrong. Question-"Can you show me scripturally why Jehovah would only look in favor on a group of men that have a long history of failed promises that they made in Jehovah's name?" Answer- The Jews in the beginning. Almost all of the OT -The same way and reason he used them despite their faults. Next................. ---------------------------------------… Galatians- if your talking about me as the one below you--that is what you do to many who disagrees with you accuse them of being one-that is a meaningless low lying tactic of yours. Presenting that as fact and it's not. Do you whisper that behind closed doors too? I have seen you do that to others and you never apologize for your error and assumptions You really need to work on that. I'll give other haters more credit for not going that low. On pedophiles already went through that with you. They don't protect them. So many leave out all the facts and that isn't helping the issue of child abuse at all. Not at all. And we already went through some things which you refused to even see. This is in every church in the world and it is a sad horror. But more have them and protect and do actually cover for them than this sect. That is a fact and I worked with such children I have seen what they go through well. I have been there to wipe many tears, to see them go to court and be rape again by the legal system who can find little justice for them even if they want too.. And often their molester is from main named religions not this one. But you don't go after them. Oh they like to attach themselves to religions. Most do. That good image -they enjoy that good helpful church going good neighbor image. . The fact is at least they disfellowship when it is proved and no repentance which few churches do at all. And they do keep records on every report of it. Good records. They have shown that in court many times. They are not the police. No church is. But few churches keep records at all. And rather than attack this church we should see all churches do that. Every one should do that. Most here in the JW at least do try to try to stop such from serving and to protect by keeping those records. Is it a perfect system no. Do some get away-yes. Again even the courts need hard evidence and seldom can they do anything. There are rarely tapes of such incidences. And you expect the church to do what they can't? You want to go back to where the church can make it's own justice for it's members? Like a Muslim who stones women and rape victims for some family honor., cuts the hands off a thief on someone's say so, and get away with it? It is a horror Your very bitter about this religion-and I don't want to hear your personal whine. Lets stick to all the truth this is going on in almost every church there is, every neighborhood seems to have these molesters. Lets not make it a church thing they are not teaching this horror. Stop fighting the churches and go after tougher laws against the molester. They like you going after the church more than them. This one at least keeps records--get down on the others for not if you care for the kids who are being abused more than your rant on a religion. Or that doesn't suit your personal agenda? I don't hate the churches who have them there wouldn't be any left to like. None, nada,. I do hate the molester. I do. They ruin lives and often get away. And I am sick of people who won't stand up for tougher laws on the molester but fight every moo point they can on someone or thing they don't like as if they are to blame more. You don't seem to get personal responsibility of those in churches rather than the church. They are not like the Catholics who knew of convicted molesters and just moved them to another church.. And I won't attack a religion who at least is doing some things right--a start- while others won't even keep a record of the reports they receive so these molester can't just move church to church And I certainly resent people who use this horror, this terrible horror, that its going on everywhere to promote hate on a religion often. Shame on you

I have had extensive conversations with the Bible Students...they are truly discreet, kind, and are not prone to denigrate the New WTBTS for it's loud, and boisterous presentation of their version of "the truth". As I recall, there are approximately more than 1 million active members..they preach very quietly, as Charles Russell requested. Their doctrines are similar, but easier to understand, and the people themselves are peaceful, and seem happy. Unlike JW members like the person below me, (SB), who defends the WTS without a shred of evidence to prove her claims. The proof of the Watchtower's infidelity with the U.N., Pedophiles, false prophesies, 23,000 registered sex offenders, improper shunning practices, high suicide rates, and massive mental and emotional control over it's members....she is totally controlled, and has no idea she is. Shay Brown...I hate to break this to you, but Jehovah's Witnesses have paid out at least $16 Million dollars of your donated lunch money, to pay off the pedophile victims of your elders, the molesters. This was "hush-money", that came from the "door to door" work. The "organization" moved the elders around, and hid their dirty deeds, until "Barbara Anderson" blew the whistle on the Boy's at Bethel. When you realize the things we are printing here are 100% true, you might want to re-examine your religion...No one should be forced to choose between his religion, and his family, or their safety from sex perverts in Jehovah's Witnesses.
Galatians; 5-1
Breaking away from false teachings has gone on during and since Christianity was born. That's what we are suppose to do. Change if we see wrong in our churches. There will be many false teachers we are told. That doesn't mean everything taught was wrong. Jesus himself lost many followers one time for his new teaching. He did stop his disciples for telling some not to preach but not all as we see later- so those particular ones must have been doing okay. It doesn't say they were teaching falsely Interesting history, I enjoy reading the history of all, how they grow if they do. Maybe that's why the bible mentions so much of it. How wrong we as humans were often. Many jump in the political bed. Or politicians the religious bed when needed. The Jews did too when it suited them. You should stop by the political board sometimes when they bring what certain politicians and religions do that are in the news. Obama (he's a real switch hitter- religion when it suits him against it when it doesn't ) , Romey (LDS), Rev Wright, Billy Graham, Pope. You might enjoy it for a change. Hope to see you there. Only it isn't like RS more on how both use each other when it suits them. Your comment does come up how they do change sheets when in their favor. Good incite. If your not stuck on this issue and open to talking about more things-come on down LOL Galatians, Hadenough has that right you said the same about me. She's sharp and very honest you might learn something if you listen. She does. And she doesn't hold grudges you could learn from that. Than you blocked me so I couldn't reply because I didn't agree with you on something. And you don't take criticism well. Even honest criticism. And I saw you do it to another before me. And heard of one after. And so on. Your M.O. Rather silly of you, hard to take you serious at all.
John 1
You talk about a "second" group that Jesus approved, but that broke away from him, yet you don't name this group. Jehovah himself said that he would have a chosen people that would bear his name. (Isaiah 43:10,12) There is no other group that follows the command that Jesus himself gave ALL, but few obey. Jesus said that he suffered for us and left a model for us to follow his steps closely. (1 Peter 2:21) The Watchtower does not cover up scandals or gets involved with politics, nor does it demand obedience. Jehovah himself gave ALL free will, not to blindly follow, but to test to make sure of the things said and taught. You make these allegiations and yet, you neglect to mention the religion that moves its clergy around for molesting boys and destroying their lives, covers it up and pays families to keep quiet. HMMMM, wonder what religion that is? And they preach and tell their members not to listen to those who are being obedient to the scriptures...wow, imagine that.

"Can you show me scripturally why Jehovah would only look in favor on a group of men that have a long history of failed promises that they made in Jehovah's name?" There is nothing in the bible favoring these wanna-be-prophets of God. They have failed tremendously with their shakey "interpretations"/prophecies and it is obvious among many how hard they try to cover it all up. Matthew 7:17-20 "Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.....Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.
