How to skip 8th grade?

How do I skip 8th grade?

  • I got held back in 2nd grade and I am in 7th now, looking to skip 8th so I can be in my original grade again. I have been thinking about this for years now, and I am sure I want to do it. I go to Broken Arrow Oklahoma public schools. Would summer school be enough to get through? I am in Pre-Ap lang and lit, and I am a quick learner in math and science. And, could I take spanish during summer school so I can have my 8th grade credit? And would summer school teach me enough to where I can pass the test? I need all the help I can get, thanks.

You'll need to talk to your school district about that. Normally, to skip a grade, you need to be able to show them you're a year or more ahead of your classes. That's going to be hard to prove.

basically once you get into middle school they don't let you skip grades or anything because they try to get everyone where they are supposed to be while in the early grades. im in 8th grade right now in Washington state and im taking trigonometry and get good grades but they would never let me skip a grade. also 8th grade is a good experience to get you ready for high school (assuming high school starts in 9th grade for you) and will really let the high school know where to place you. i hoped this helped.

You had enough of middle school. I say talk to someone. Like your middle school counselor. Of she/he isn't trying to help you. Go contact a higher authority. I think you have a very good reason because I will be 20 when I graduate from High School and it SUCKs. You also said you are a fast learner especially in math and science. Which are important subjects. U're in pre AP Lit....you Go sister! I highly encourage you to skip 8th grade.

i think that you will have to work extra hard.... and since every school is different, i dont know if summer school would make it up for you.. i know what you feel like but i have an idea that could work : in high school if you get enough credits by junior year then you wont have to go to your senior year and graduate with the 8th graders. anyway good luck :)
