How do I look up topics(hotels) for a research paper?

Please help ? I don't mind if you only look at one paragraph or skim quickly through my research paper?

  • you don't have to read the whole thing, but if you can please help out in any way if only the first paragraph or only the last that would be great but i spent all night on this literally lol Scientists look back and try to figure out the world before humans existed. To this day, the past before humans walked the Earth is a mystery to even the most intelligent minds. However, science is on the path of discovering new ways to piece the world’s past together through forming theories and experimenting. Many wonder if scientist’s take these too far and this is portrayed through many works in literature. Michael Crichton’s Jurassic Park suggests that some scientific advances are dangerous and unneeded. In Jurassic Park, scientists create their theory. Scientists attempt to expand the knowledge in the world we live in through extracting dinosaur DNA from bugs found in amber from the Jurassic time period. This makes it possible to clone dinosaurs and make them a living form in the modern world. When paleontologists suggest through their findings that dinosaurs are not so bright, the rich realize that they could make a great amount of money off of a theme park that would safely show live dinosaurs to the public. Therefore, in Jurassic Park it was easy to consider bringing these reptiles into the world since, “one can’t wait to see a ravenous dinosaur up close and personal.” (Hunter; ed. 71) Dinosaurs, in actuality, are proven to have been more like birds and not normally slow. It was more often found that dinosaurs were “lean, quick, mean and networked, the very embodiments of a successful competitive species.” (Hunter, ed. 71) At first, all anyone could see was that this theme park of dinosaurs would be a utopia. But when people added dinosaurs to this world, the natural order became mess and characters had to suffer the consequences of over stepping boundaries that should not have been overstepped. People were eaten by what they had created because curiosity of how the world worked took them too far. These “unleashed monsters” (Beetz, ed. 2230) proved how physically dangerous they really are. One dinosaur even spits venom, making it unsafe for anyone within fifty feet of it. Children are especially in danger given smaller dinosaurs like to bite at them and the bigger dinosaurs will simply eat them. Business wanted to continue even though their were many accidental deaths involved in the making of this theme park. This is because “they just want to get the cash bandwagon rolling.” (Hunter, ed. 72). This does not just prove that there were issues in the park, this is a warning that dinosaurs are in their unnatural habitat and will not hesitate to attack while business owners went on caring for only themselves. People were now hurting psychologically as well as physically in many aspects. People were being damaged seeing the blood and people being torn to shreds but the business people were psychologically impaired to the extent that they only cared about the money. This creates a vicious cycle while the environment is now dangerously unbalanced as well. Dinosaurs were not supposed to be reproducing in order for the scientists to keep control of their new world and to study it. However, dinosaurs reproduced and scientists were not able to contain them, putting the world in danger because the scientists try to create things of the ecosystem that they barely know much about and cannot balance correctly. By adding the dinosaurs, they added the problems that occurred before the dinosaurs were extinct and allowed the fact that “Velociraptors are the antagonists. Mother Nature’s revenge for human hubris.” (Chapman, ed. 71) Jurassic Park shows that the scientists want to view science as a way of entertainment for the public. While the public seeks terror for a great adrenaline rush, they also see that dinosaurs are nice enough to be inviting to everyone. The characters do not realize that they are being eaten as a consequence of their actions for allowing science experiments to go too far. The thrill turns from an adrenaline rush to being “thrilled to escape.” (Hunter, ed. 68). “Still, one is left to wonder at the allure of creatures extinct eons ago,”(Hunter, ed. 72) even though the creatures are not supposed to be messed with. This is another reason as to why people are excited to know how the park will turn out. However, when greed and vanity are mixed with a fascination that should be subtle, it can lead to a disaster while “the characters self-assured attitudes towards scientific crisis” (Marowski, ed. 73) only worsens the situation. This is because excessive pride and self-confidence took place while man first began to go too far with science. When this continues and nothing has changed, only disaster will continue until someone stops “the potential for the misuse of science.” (Beetz, ed. 2230) When the park is only about money for the business though “paying for admissions, guided tours, and thrill rides,”

  • Answer:

Too preachy. First it sounds like you want a paper on the evils of science, and then you start getting all moralistic saying how greed and business people are the problem. Then you wrap it up with science being manipulated by the greed of businessmen. It needs a rewrite, and to be more focused in the subject material. You could talk about the best intentions of the different parties involved, and how sometimes they can go horribly wrong. In addition you could make a case for the basic instinct of survival is stronger than curiosity, greed, or any other higher intention. I would use Jurassic Park as an example, and then maybe talk about the supercollider.
