How do I make him notice me?

Re-post: how can I make this guy notice me? does he like me?

• just changed the question... so, there's this guy.. (Isn't there always?) * and I think I like him- I haven't been attracted to anyone before. * and I want to get to know him before without seeming creepy, as we have different friendship groups and don't share any classes. But I don't want to try if it seems like he doesn't like me too... Every time he sees me, he asks for a hug, but he does that with everyone. He smiles at me a lot, but I think that's just because when I'm near him I don't talk much (because I'm shy) and he feels sorry for me or something (also my friend always has to mention that I haven't eaten all day or I've eaten loads- which does nothing for my confidence). And he always seems to come over to talk to me and that friend as he knows her more (I'm pretty much always with her). He told me he wants to invite me to a party because him and my friend were going to one and I wasn't and he said he'd never seen me at one. He called me 'breathtakingly beautiful' because he called me cute and I said that I hate that word. I'm not sure if he was joking though because there were loads of people and it felt like he was mocking me cause it was so random (we were in the library so it was kinda awkward too cause everyone heard). he also called me smart cause we both take maths and I'm not behind like he is. oh and he took university prospectuses from me (quite literally) because they were too heavy to carry home. we don't even have each other on facebook... so, I'm just not sure how to get him to notice me really, he's always surrounded by people and I'm not that confident. (I'm 5ft3, 105ish pounds, I like action and superhero films, want to do a degree in computer science, smile and laugh at everything...) omg sorry this is so long, I didn't expect it to be o.O

  I think he might like you. You have to be patient. Be friendly and pleasant, but not pushy. Try to show him that you are a kind person, and interesting to talk to. Talk to him when you can about school, sports, music, movies, books, hobbies, special interests, friends, family, pets, events that are happening around you or in your town, anything that might be of interest to him. Ask him questions about himself. Help him if he needs help. Show interest in the activities and issues that interest him. Pay attention to him, listen to what he has to say. Smile. Make eye contact. See how things develop.
