What are some things for a visiting college student to do in Atlanta over the summer?

i don't know what your interests are, but here are some neighborhoods/places you might want to visit. atlantic station phipps plaza/lenox mall/buckhead (pricey areas) little 5 points (bohemian center, lots of interesting things to check out there) east atlanta (bars, etc., hipster mecca) midtown (lots to check out there, depending on what you like to do; restaurants, clubs, art) downtown (has a lot of the touristy things like coke museum, aquarium, etc.) decatur (cute area in dekalb county; plenty to do there too -some areas can get a little rough) there are lots of things to do outside the perimeter, too. gwinnett county has a lot to do. if you go north about 30 minutes and you'll get to the mall of georgia, and a little further is chateau elan, a lovely resort/spa/winery. just time your trips so you're not sitting in traffic during rush hour. the traffic really is awful at times. have fun!
