How well does a Garmin work in Pittsburgh?

    They sell Garmin GPS units here, though I have only seen the ones for hiking/camping/biking. The only question would be the availability, detail and accuracy of the maps. Have you checked the internet for maps? Did a Yahoo Japan Google search for you, told it to list only Japanese sites and there are quite a few. I have a Garmin 205 Forerunner. It works in Japan. I expect a global positioning system to work anywhere in the world as long as you have Communication with the satellites.
