Thesis statement for Homer's the Odyssey?

• I have to write a paper on Homer's the Odyssey and I am completely stuck. I have no idea how to come up with a good thesis statement that I can support well. I have a general idea of what I would like to write about, I want to write about Homer's views on fame and glory in which he portrays through Odysseus and other literary vehicles. I have a general idea of what I want my thesis statement to be, but i don't know how to word it into a sentence and then create a multiparagraph essay on it. My idea is that in a culture that basically walks with their gods, it would make sense for them to want to immortal like them, and the only way a mortal can be "immortal" is if their name/ legend lives on. They want to be significant enough to be remembered through the ages, and how they obtain their "immortality" is through making a name for themselves and earning this fame and glory through doing glorious things. Now that's fine and dandy, but I don't know how to move ON from that. As in, I don't know what topics to use to support and circle back to that long and tedious "thesis statement". I know my thesis statement isn't a good one so if you could help me word it better or have ideas for topics that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much<3
