What is the story behind the Bermuda Triangle?

What's the story of the Bermuda Triangle?

  • I'm 16 & I've heard this many a time. I've always been fascinated and interested in myths, legends, & folklore and I know many of them but this is one of my favorites along with "The Black Dog", "When A Stranger Calls", "The Headless Horseman", & "The Ghost Car of Clinton Road". But I've never really known the whole thing of "The Bermuda Triangle"

  • Answer:

It is a region in the western part of the North Atlantic Ocean where many ships and airplanes have dissapeared. There are many versions why al these accidents have taken place. Some people like the poster above me point to a gas called Methangas (or something like that) that causes ships to sink in a matter of seconds (however some historical examples with these gas don't seem to give a satisfying answer). Other people point to more SF-theories like aliens who kidnap these persons. And again other people look at statistical variables and say that not that many ships/airplanes dissapeare in the area and that it only looks much because it's a very important trade route. But there are many other theories so look it up :) :).

The bermuda triangle is a magnetic field basicly, formed in a triangle it messes with ships electronics and causes them to be lost or not working at all, stuck

You've got the part about it being a myth correct. Planes crash and ships sink wherever they go. Five planes 'disappeared' there at once in 1945 and so someone decided that something paranormal must be happening there, instead of looking at more obvious explanations. There have been very few incidents when anything has 'disappeared' there, before or since. Statistically speaking, far more ships disappear ('sink' in other words) at various points around Africa and in the South China Sea. These are the facts which people love to ignore.

a "mysterious" gas is emitted from the ocean and many flights and ships have sunk and crashed over this imaginary area. im pretty sure its methane gas
